I just wanted to explain my previous post Cottingley Blue for any who might not know the story behind it.
When I uploaded that post I was actually taking my IGCSE art exam and the post was a part of it.
A large part of my art exam was inspired by the Cottingley Fairies story and so I decided to create my own photograph using the same methods as Elsie Wright and Frances Griffiths.
I designed a ‘new species’ of butterfly and painted it onto thick paper. It was then scanned and printed onto card and cut out.
As you can see I then placed it outside in a realistic position and photographed it.
I then asked friends to comment on the post as if it was a real discovery and I named the new species the Cottingley Blue.
I want to thank Hope Bullard, David Mutch, Debbie Chan, Jake Harries, Alex and Hwa Young for commenting as you all helped me to achieve a B.
Also thanks to my mum for helping me through my exam and patiently helping in the photography process.
I have several photos that did not get used and I think I will share them with you next week.
